1992
We are already arrived in the year 1992. At the beginning of the evening on 4 October, a cargo plane of the Israeli airline company EL Al crashes into the Groeneveen and Kruitberg flats in the Amsterdam Bijlmer. Steven Spielberg's film about dinosaurs brought to life becomes a huge successand causes unprecedented dino hype worldwide. (these dinos have nothing to do with older bartenders!) and there is an earthquake in Limburg causing more than 200 million guilders in damage.
Our National Cocktail Competition takes place at NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam. Douglas Vrijberghe de Coningh is crowned national champion with his cocktail Sasja III.
The National Longdrink Competition is won by Peter van Bruchem with his longdrink Sevilla.
Douglas achieved the highest total score in the 2 competitions and may represent the Netherlands the following year during the IBA ICC in Vienna.
