1984! A lot of bad things happened that year, but a few positive events include;
Apple’s Macintosh computer goes on sale, priced at $2,500.
Astronaut, Kathryn D. Sullivan becomes the first female American to perform a spacewalk. NASA mission STS-41-G is also the same mission where Marc Garneau becomes the first Canadian in space (+fun bonus fact; my mother in law has worked with him and Marc is also the uncle of a Canadian friend of mine ).
More important in 1984: Dutch bartender Nico Homeijer becomes the winner of the 26th Nationale Cocktail Competitie in the RAI Amsterdam with his cocktail Mariko;
