Winnaar NCC 1969

Calypso was not only a figure in Greek mythology or one of the moons of Saturn and a song from John Denver, Calypso was also the name of the winning first prize cocktail from Dick Zeegers at the national competition of 1969 held at the Grand Hotel Kuhrhaus in Scheveningen.

Dick Zeegers worked at the Park Hotel Rotterdam for many years and Calypso would not be his only win.

In his recipe the spirit base used is Booth's Gin. Booth's is one of the oldest names in gin dating back to 1740 unfortunately out of production in that same year. If you need a substitude try CATZ Gin
