We arrive at the year 1991. The year of the fall of the Soviet Union, after the independence of Ukraine, Georgia, Belarus, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia. The year of the Gulf war, and start of the Yugoslavian conflict. The year that say Mark Wahlberg, AKA Marky Mark release "Good Vibrations", Salt 'N Peppa with "Let's Talk about Sex" and of course Gordon with

"Kon ik maar even bij je zijn", topping the charts.

AKA A year of the big guns. The NBC saw two of those big guns win the National Competitions. Nico Kager, former NBC president, wins the National Longdrink competition with his "La Venta" at Hotel Oranje in Noordwijk.

Peter Jansen, honorary President, wins the national championship with the Zagoskin, named after the Russian writer at the RAI in Amsterdam. No doubt influenced by the state of affairs that year in Russia?
