The year is 2001. An intense year, where everyone remembers where they were on 9/11. I remember watching it on TV as a young student with my fraternity, UNITAS, in shock as the size of the events unfolded, actually a stone throw away of what is now Dutch Courage!

In happier news, it was also the year the Netherlands legalized same-sex marriage, the first country to do so, and many would follow, The tower of Pisa is re-opened after 11 years after renovations without fixing its famous lean, and LeAnn Rimes tops the charts with her hit single of the movie Coyote Ugly, spawning series of tribute bars with ladies dancing on them.

At the National championships, Onno de graaf wins for the Golden Tulip Bussum with his drink "Golden Mata Hari Tulip"

-smart name!- at Party Theater Festige Amsterdam,

and our very own president Richard Zijlstra

wins the Longdrink competition with his drink "Pimpel Purple"!
