1972 was the year of the hostage crisis at the Munich Olympics and the start of the Watergate scandal. "Bloody Sunday" also takes place in Londonderry. The Biesheuvel I cabinet falls. The most important political discussion, however, concerns the possible pardon of “De Drie van Breda”. Ajax wins the European Cup I for the second time and Karel Remmerswaal wins our National Cocktail Competition with his cocktail Twenny.
